Lighthouse Sunset Photo Tour

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Journey

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Maine October

This Photography Tour is an absolute fantastic way to spend the day exploring, learning, and experiencing the Maine coast. On the Lighthouse Sunset Photo Tour we slowly make our way down the Bristol peninsula stopping at numerous unique locations with stunning Maine scenery, fishing villages, and at spots known only to locals. This tour is a thrill of an adventure.

Once at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, one of the most dramatic lighthouse locations, you will have time before sunset to explore the grounds, the buildings, and the phenomenal rock formations. We will have an early dinner at a waterfront location followed by a journey back to the lighthouse for the sunset light.

“On our way to the lighthouse, we had the opportunity to shoot at four different locations which allowed for a variety of photos and teaching moments. I learned so much!” – Diane D.

Fun Facts about Pemaquid Point Lighthouse:

The Lighthouse tower is 38 feet tall, constructed of stone and was completed in 1835. The wood frame Keeper’s House was added in 1857. The grounds around the light are approximately 35 feet above sea level with beautiful rock formations between the tower and the sea.

This lighthouse, chosen to represent Maine in the U.S. mint’s state quarter collection in 2003 has a fully functional light. Operated by the Coast Guard as a navigation aid, the beacon flashes a single white beam every 6 seconds and reaches 14 nautical miles out to sea.
