Tours are led by longtime local fine-art photographer, Dee Peppe, professor with the University of Maine. Dee brings a unique combination of local knowledge and teaching experience to sharing her passion for photography while exploring the beautiful state of Maine.
Dee’s goal is to help you make your images better, to show you ways to expand your vision, to increase your awareness of your surroundings, to help you understand the camera controls that can support your vision, and overall, to help you to see the world through your camera with more creative ability.
Dee strives to offer you a fun, informative, and inspiring photographic education and travel experience. Her passion for photography and her enthusiasm for teaching will expand your photographic skills while exploring the beautiful Maine coast and beyond.
Dee Peppe, has led photographic travel workshops to France, Belize, and Guatemala and has been teaching photography in the workshop format since 1990. Dee has a Master of Fine Arts degree from Savannah College of Art and Design and her photographs are included in museum, corporate, and private collections. Dee loves working with students of all ages and brings photography education into grade schools, high schools, and colleges as an artist in residence. Other schools where she has taught includes Maine Media Workshops, Pensacola State College, Colby College, and College of the Atlantic.
Dee moved to Maine in 1979 and has been leading students to field trip locations on the coast of Maine since 1990. She is an enthusiastic educator who is skilled at helping students realize their personal vision. She tries to shed light onto the complicated, digital camera controls by explaining the functions in a simple way.
