Lighthouse Sunset Photo Tour

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse Sunset Journey

Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, Maine October

A drive down a picturesque, coastal Maine peninsula brings you to the historic Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, which sits on the dramatic, rocky, wave worn ledges of Muscungus Bay. On the Lighthouse Sunset Photo Tour you will stop along the way to Pemaquid Point at locations with beautiful Maine scenery, fishing villages, and at spots known only to the locals.

“On our way to the lighthouse, we had the opportunity to shoot at four different locations which allowed for a variety of photos and teaching moments. I learned so much!” – Diane D.

Fun Facts about Pemaquid Point Light:

The Lighthouse tower is 38 feet tall, constructed of stone and was completed in 1835. The wood frame Keeper’s House was added in 1857. The grounds around the light are approximately 35 feet above sea level with beautiful rock formations between the tower and the sea.

This lighthouse, chosen to represent Maine in the U.S. mint’s state quarter collection in 2003 has a fully functional light. Operated by the Coast Guard as a navigation aid, the beacon flashes a single white beam every 6 seconds and reaches 14 nautical miles out to sea. Check out their official web site with a webcam that updates every 5 minutes, http://www.pemaquidpoint.org/wc.php.
